Welcome to La Grotta, a family-run Italian trattoria in the heart of Matlock Bath.

We’re husband and wife team, Angelo and Carly, and we’re delighted to begin this new chapter. If you’ve dined with us before at our restaurants in Milford or Duffield, you’ll already know our passion for great food, warm hospitality, and making every guest feel at home.

At La Grotta, we’re returning to our roots, focusing on the authentic flavours and relaxed atmosphere of a traditional Italian trattoria. Expect freshly prepared dishes, classic Italian favourites, and a genuine family welcome every time you visit.

We’re also thrilled to be joined by some of our long-standing team members, along with family who have chosen to be part of this exciting journey. Their experience, dedication, and friendly faces help make La Grotta a place where everyone feels like family.

We moved to Matlock Bath, the county town of Derbyshire, is a charming town nestled in the Derwent Valley on the edge of the Peak District National Park. Famous for its Victorian spa history, it offers scenic riverside walks, award-winning parks, independent shops, and now ourselves!
